Funded by the UK’s Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, the Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship provides fully funded study in the UK for Pakistani and AJ&K citizens. It targets talented individuals with leadership potential who cannot afford education in the UK. The scholarship focuses on sustainable development and impact.
Eligibility Criteria for Pakistani Students
Nationality: Must be a Pakistani or AJ&K citizen and resident (no dual nationals).
Education: You need a first division 16‑year undergraduate degree (or 2:1 honours). A 2:2 may be accepted if you hold a relevant postgraduate qualification, subject to strong justification.
Academic Record: No second or third divisions in your terminal degree; second divisions allowed in earlier semesters only.
Financial Need: You must demonstrate genuine inability to afford UK study without scholarship support.
Availability: Ready to start UK studies by September 2026.
HAT Test: You must score at least 60/100 on HEC’s HAT test (taken after Oct 2022) to be eligible. Selection will be merit-based.
Key Selection Criteria:
Return airfare to/from UK.
Full tuition fees.
Monthly stipend of approximately £1,378, or £1,690 if studying in London.
Warm clothing allowance, thesis grant, study travel grant, and excess baggage allowance where applicable.
Child allowance provided for single/widowed/divorced parents.
Disability support funding if needed.
How to Apply?
CSC Home Application
Register on the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s Electronic Application System (EAS) [Masters portal].
Upload academic transcripts, references, financial need statement, and course selections.
HEC Online Nomination
Apply via the HEC portal at Learning Opportunities Abroad.
Include personal documents, HAT score, degree certificates, and your CSC application ID.
Both applications must be submitted before Pakistan’s national deadline.
Typical deadlines fall around mid-2025 for the 2026 intake; exact dates are confirmed via HEC announcements.
